This week for Cybersmart we have been being detectives! We had to find out information about Miss Morgan and her dog Cooper by looking at their blogs.
We had to screenshot and make a list of all the things that we could find out.

DeleteThank you for commenting on our blog! We didn't know that Miss Morgan had been to Timaru in the holidays! We'll have to ask her next time she visits us. We found out that Cooper is a golden retriever dog and he likes eating fish and chips! He also likes his two friends called Beau and Buster. He also loves playing outside and going to the beach.

What a pleasure it is to see students wanting to find out how to find information about someone. It is great to know that YMS students respect the rights of others to keep some information private. A major part of being Cybersmart is only sharing information that you or others want to be shared.

I'm glad that you know how to find out information. I think asking is a good one to find out about a person. Renzil is right, hacking isn't a safe or ok way to find out information about people. Great job on being Cybersmart with your thinking.

I think a good way to find out about something is to pay attention about what they talk about or what they are interested in.

DeleteThank you for your comment! We were working with Miss Morgan (Cooper's owner) and it was a test to see if we could figure out what was personal information and what was private information, so that we can be CyberSmart.
It's always a good idea to pay attention when someone is talking. Then you can find out about them or find out what you need to do in class.
Some of us have shared our CyberSmart work in our reflection posts on a Friday :) Maybe you could have a look there.
