T2W1 CyberSmart

This week for Cybersmart we have been being detectives! We had to find out information about Miss Morgan and her dog Cooper by looking at their blogs.

We had to screenshot and make a list of all the things that we could find out.

Have a look at the slides we made using the information. How else could we have found out about Miss Morgan and Cooper?

Please leave us a comment!

  1. Hello Everyone
We like how you have listed all the facts that you have found out about Miss Morgan. Did you know that Miss Morgan spent some time in the holidays in Timaru? What did you find out about Cooper?

    1. Hi Kererū!

Thank you for commenting on our blog! We didn't know that Miss Morgan had been to Timaru in the holidays! We'll have to ask her next time she visits us. We found out that Cooper is a golden retriever dog and he likes eating fish and chips! He also likes his two friends called Beau and Buster. He also loves playing outside and going to the beach.

      Have you seen Cooper's blog?

  2. What a pleasure it is to see students wanting to find out how to find information about someone. It is great to know that YMS students respect the rights of others to keep some information private. A major part of being Cybersmart is only sharing information that you or others want to be shared.

I look forward to your next blog post.

    1. Hi Mr Robertson,

Thank you for your comment. We have worked really hard to learn about what we should share online. We think that being CyberSmart is part of being a Responsible Citizen.

  3. Hi TM2,

What a great detective game. I am so interested in finding out what you found out about Cooper. Are you going to share that information with us all?

I'm glad that you know how to find out information. I think asking is a good one to find out about a person. Renzil is right, hacking isn't a safe or ok way to find out information about people. Great job on being Cybersmart with your thinking.

  4. Hey TM2!
My name is Maddie and I am from Rimu!

I found this really cool! How did you guys come up with this idea?

I would really love for you guys to share some of the blog posts that they found this info from, maybe share screenshots?

I think a good way to find out about something is to pay attention about what they talk about or what they are interested in.

it's great to see you guys being so cyber smart with your learning and I hope you all keep up the amazing work!

    1. Hi Maddie,

Thank you for your comment! We were working with Miss Morgan (Cooper's owner) and it was a test to see if we could figure out what was personal information and what was private information, so that we can be CyberSmart.

It's always a good idea to pay attention when someone is talking. Then you can find out about them or find out what you need to do in class.

Some of us have shared our CyberSmart work in our reflection posts on a Friday :) Maybe you could have a look there.
