ASB Money Wise Lessons

We had an awesome lesson on money with Aimee our Money Personal Trainer from ASB today! We got to earn medals for completing money events. We were able to earn all 3!

Our first one was learning about how EFTPOS cards and the bank work. We talked about 'invisible money' where we swipe our card and put in a secret PIN number for our card. Then the EFTPOS machine contacts the bank and asks we have enough money.

Our second challenge was a chore marathon to earn ourselves some money. We had to do things like hanging up the washing, doing the dishes, vacuuming and cleaning our imaginary toilets. We earned ourselves $20 for our class shopping.

Our final one was a shopping deal challenge. Takira was an amazing chore actress and she earned the job of holding the shopping list and helping us to make good deals!

We looked at different deals on the supermarket shelves and had to choose which was a better deal. Was is the 2 for 1 loaves of bread that was the best, or was it the bunch of bananas for $3?

Either way - thank you very much to our Moneywise PT, Aimee! We loved it!

T2W4 - HERO - Enthusiastic Learner in the Playground

We watched the kid president's video from our HERO lesson of 20 positive things that we should say more often!

We decided to come up with 10 of our own and make our own video :) We chose the music Happy, by Pharrell, because we wanted our school to be happy out in our playground!

Have a look at our video and what we think we should say to be Enthusiastic Learners in the playground!

Kelly Sports Tuesdays!

We're super lucky to get Steve from Kelly Sports come and run some games with us every Tuesday!

We're learning heaps about different strategy games and how to work as a team! We've been playing games using lots of different equipment and different rules, getting harder and harder each time.

Have a look at the video of us playing Hi Five Tag!

Welcome to TM2!

We have had a little bit of a change from Term 1 2018 :)

As you might have noticed, we have switched up our home classes a bit and are beginning Term 2 with a new set up of home classes. We're now called Te Māhuri 2 and our teacher is Miss Walters. In our class we have 29 students, but still a mix of Year 3 and Year 4 students. We're all ready to learn lots, work hard and try our best.

Here's to an awesome term! :)

Merry Christmas!
