How to Leave a Comment/Find Our Blog!

This week in Cybersmart we have been learning how to use Venngage!

We worked with Miss Morgan and Miss W to make a Venngage about how to find our blogs. We learnt about choosing a blank template and adding information in a screenshot, a text and putting pictures in using the icons.

We had lots of fun using Venngage and we might even start to use it to show our learning in class when we've had some practice!

What do you think about our poster? Is it clear and easy to follow? What could we change to make things better?

Matariki Clay Stars

We made clay stars during Matariki at the end of last term. We made stars because they mean it is the beginning of the Maori New Year. We found out information about Matariki here.

First we used rollers to flatten the clay and then we used a star cutter to make the shape. Next we made marks on it for decoration with shape cutters, skewers and bottle tops. After that we had to leave them to dry for two weeks so that they could be put into a furnace. The furnace was 1200 degrees celsius and it made it really hard.

Once they were fired we had to paint them and put the wire through the little hole. Then we are going to take them home in bubble wrap.

These are some of our stars up close!

Have you ever made Matariki Stars? Do you like our stars?

T3W6 2019 Bites of Biteable

This week for CyberSmart we have been playing around with Biteable and experimenting with what it can do! We can use Biteable to make a video and share information.

Miss W made one to show us the things we needed for descriptions. We looked at how you could choose a template and change the colours and the writing. It looked really cool!

Have a look at the one Miss W made about writing a description.

Description Writing on Biteable.

Can you see any important things that you need for a great piece of writing?

Furry Friends

This morning we had a lovely visitor! Ruby's grandmother came into school with her dog!
Her dog was a chihuahua and his name was Remington!

We learnt that they are the smallest dog in the world and that Ruby's grandmother has had him since he was 8 weeks old. He was very fluffy and smooth and he wears outfits. Today he was wearing his school uniform. Ruby likes to put clothes on Remington when it's cold!

We got to sit in a circle and pat the dog. Everyone got to have a turn. We put all the facts we know about Remington into a Venngage, because we were learning how to use it this morning!

Have a look - do you know any facts about chihuahuas?

We love our new sandpit!

We have been really lucky at our school to have a sandpit for ages, but it used to be quite small and there was a really big wall and a massive tree in the way!

Now we have a huuuuuuuge sandpit! Erica and Jack Steele and the PTA were super generous because the wall came down and they built us a new even bigger sandpit! We are so happy we have lots of extra space!

Miss W took a video of some of us boys playing at break time in the sandpit - we were digging a big hole pretending that we were mining. It was epic!

Have you got a cool spot in your playground that you really love?

Merry Christmas!

This is going to be our last blog post for the year!  We've had an awesome time in TM in 2019, learnt heaps of new stuff, read tons of...
