Hi Te Māhuri,
ReplyDeleteWe think that your art is a great idea! It would be an awesome activity for a sunny day. It is cool that you can create beautiful art out of things that you find outside. What is your 'Chance box'? It sounds very interesting.
From Team Toi Toi
Thank you, it was fun. Ms Lange got the idea from the work of Andrew Goldsworthy a UK outdoor artist. We have a 'Classopoly' board in our class. Whenever the children do something to show our class treaty, we move the counter forward another space. When we get to a corner we get to draw a card out of the 'chance box'. We all wrote a card for the chance box of something we would like to do as a reward; like draw, play octopus, play silent ball etc. All the best for the last week of term!
DeleteKiaora Te Mahuri,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your outstanding and imaginative koru art images that you created on the concrete. Room 7 thinks it would be neat to draw the designs on the sand at the beach.
You have inspired our class to draw a koru and we have been looking at different designs and colours on our chromebooks. We researched the meaning of Koru and discovered it was a spiral shape based on the appearance of a new unfurling silver fern frond.
Amindeep has just discovered there is a Koru School - in Mangere - South Auckland.
The koru design is a stylized fern leaf often used in Maori carving and tatoo art.
Thank you for shaing your awesome art and keep on learning new and fascinating facts.
Have a happy day.
