Alter It!

This week for Cybersmart we were learning to cover up things that shouldn't be shared online in our photos. We looked at Cooper's Blog and saw he had a photo of him wearing a hat that showed somewhere that he visits often.

We didn't think that was very CyberSmart because that is private information, but we liked the photo because he looked really cute. We had to change some pictures and cover up the private information so the photos were CyberSmart.

We also talked about how some information online might not be true or real, so we practiced editing photos to see how easy it is. Miss W showed us SnapChat and the filters that people can use to make things look different in a photo.

We played around and we were even able to turn some of the boys into girls, give people fake glasses and change how they looked! It was quite funny but it also showed us that not everything online is true!

Have a look at our photos!

  1. Hey Te Māhuri,

We like your altered photos. It's cool that you tried out the Snapchat filters as well. We have also been altering photos with Miss Morgan. We enjoyed the part of the session where we had to create an image that wasn't real. Lots of us chose to create an animal out of two different animals parts (such as a fish with crab claws instead of fins).

Thank you for your wonderful comment! Yes we did laugh a lot at our SnapChat photos! Jayden's favourite was the photo with the glasses and Angel-Mey thought her photo with the cone was really funny too! Devran also got turned into an ostrich, but it was really hard to tell it was him because it was only his eyes!

You should keep private information like your birthday, where you live (your address) and any passwords to yourself! I'm sure that if you look through some of our blogs you will find posts about what is private and personal information :)
